What has evolved is a federal organization
comprising two arms: the Cantonal Chapters and the Macro-regional
Secretariat. The Chapters are the "owners" of the
organization, the Secretariat its "servant".
Confederazione Veneziana (CV) currently operates in North-east
Italy, in an area encompassing the historical "Venices"
- i.e. the current regions of Venezia Tridentina-Sud Tirol/Alto
Adige, Venezia Euganea, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, and the current
provinces of Bergamo, Brescia, Cremona (i.e. Venezia Orobica),
and Mantua. Its headquarters are located in Padua.
The Confederazione Veneziana movement currently comprises
the macro-regional organs (the Board of Directors, the Executive,
the Membership Meeting, the Advisory Council and the Macro-regional
Secretariat), the research units (each with their own Board
of Directors, Executive and Advisory Group), and the Cantonal/International
Chapters (each with their own Board of Directors, Executive,
and Membership Meeting).
Macro-regional Organs
- The Board of Directors is elected by the Membership Meeting,
from among Active and Honorary Members, for a three-year
term of office. It is Confederazione Veneziana's central
governing body, and is responsible for considering and deciding
matters and issues of importance to the Organization.
- The Executive comprises three Directors, and is responsible
for most matters pertaining to the Organization.
- The Membership Meeting is held at least once in each calendar
year, and is responsible in particular for considering the
annual report of the Executive, giving formal approval of
the actions of the Executive, and electing and recalling
members of the Board of Directors.
- The Advisory Council consists of individuals with extensive
experience in areas specifically relating to the purpose
and work of the Organization. It assists CV by developing
recommendations and providing advice to the Board of Directors.
- The Macro-regional Secretariat supports the organization
by serving the needs of its governing bodies, the Advisory
Council, the research units and the Cantonal Chapters.
Cantonal/International Chapters
- At the heart of the CV movement are its Cantonal/International
Chapters. Each chapter is indigenous and wholly locally
owned; it is therefore free to do what it judges best, provided
only that the principle of non-partisanship is observed
and that its policies and activities are consistent with
Confederazione Veneziana's mission and core values.
- A chapter may consist of an already-existing organization
which wishes to work in support of CV's objectives, or else
one created specifically for the purpose of serving as the
movement's local link.
- The organs of the Cantonal/International Chapter are the
Board of Directors and the Membership Meeting.
