Confederazione Veneziana is a grass-roots movement whose mission consists in bringing about institutional, social and economic changes in the Venices* based on those same values and principles that motivated with extreme success our Venetian Forefathers - free enterprise, institutional integrity, limited government and individual liberty - through scholarly research, open debate and publications.

We are not afraid to begin our sentences with the words "We believe", because we do believe the values and principles that motivated our Venetian Forefathers are worth conserving. And as institutional entrepreneurs, we believe the most effective solutions to current problems in North-East Italy* are drawn from these same values and principles.

We will generate solutions consistent with our beliefs and market them to Venetian Regional Parliaments and Governments, the news media and the general public. These solutions will build on our country's institutional, historical, economic and social heritage to produce a freer, safer, stronger, more prosperous Venetia*.

We want a Venetia* that is safe and secure; where integrity in society and institutions is the norm; where choices (in education, health care and retirement) abound; where taxes are fair and comprehensible; where everybody has the opportunity to go as far as their talents will take them; where government concentrates on its core functions, recognizes its limits and shows favour to none. And the institutional changes we propose would accomplish these things.

We believe we are being given an historic opportunity, and we cannot fail to make the most of it. It is the least we owe to our Venetian Forefathers, and to the next generation who will live with the result of what we accomplish, or fail to accomplish, today.

Our vision is to recreate a Venetia in which freedom, integrity, opportunity, prosperity and civil society flourish.
