INSTITUTIONAL SOCIAL ECONOMIC ISSUES


ENTERPRISE & CAPITALISM
In collaboration with Dr. Johan Norberg (Stockholm - Sweden) and Prof. Philip Booth (IEA - London).
Project Aim: to counteract the denigration of entrepreneurs and capitalism by making available to the general public in the Venices* articles and books supporting the merits of capitalism and enterprise.

PENSION REFORM
In collaboration with Prof. Jose Pinera - the father of Chile's successful pension system.
Project Aim: to convince the general public and opinion makers in the Venices* of the need to abandon the current pension system and adopt the Chilean model based on Personal Pension Accounts.

project status: ongoing


TAX REFORM
In collaboration with Proff. Robert Hall and Alvin Rabushka - the fathers of the Flat Tax proposal.
Project Aim: to make the current Flat Tax debate in Venetia* more balanced by providing the general public and opinion makers with access to a rigorous translation of the original proposal.

GLOBALIZATION
In collaboration with Dr. Johan Norberg - author of the book "In Defence of Global Capitalism".
Project Aim: to counteract the pervasive influence of the anti-globalization movements in North-East* Italy by making available to the general public and opinion makers articles and books supporting the merist of globalization.

ISLAM & THE MIDDLE EAST
In collaboration with Dr. Joshua Muravchik - AEI scholar specialising in United Nations, Islam and the Middle East.
Project Aim: to inject a different and international perspective to the current debate in the Venices* regarding Islam, the Middle East, and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict - debate which currently is too skewed in favour of the Palestinian and Arab side.

HELPLINE SERVICE
Project Aim: to provide free advice and support to citizens in their disputes with government agencies in the Venices*, irrespective of their economic standing, political affiliation or religious beliefs.

Project Aim: the current situation in the Venices* is such that, in most cases, improvements in public services can be achieved only by undertaking legal battles.

PROTECTION and PROMOTION

VENETIAN HERITAGE


Aim: to raise public awareness, understanding and appreciation of Venetian heritage in all its forms, and to promote its relevance and importance to the life of all communities in the Venices* thereby increasing the commitment of the Venetian regional governments to its protection and preservation for future generations.

18th CENTURY VENETIAN LITERATURE
Project Aim: to make publicly available on the internet a full PDF version of all existing Venetian literature of the early-modern period (1700-1797).

project status: under development


VENETIAN FLAGS and STANDARDS
Project Aims:

  1. to create a rigorous, complete list of the official flags and standards of the Venetian Republic as of 12th May 1797;
  2. to discover the location of existing Venetian flags and standards and their current state of conservation.

project status: under development


THE LION and THE EAGLE
Project Aims:

  1. to research the economic and political links which existed between the Venetian Republic and the United States of America till 1797;
  2. to analyse the institutional similarities existing between the US Constitution and the Venetian mode of government;
  3. to undertake rigorous translation - italian into english, or viceversa - of above research results and of other existing academic papers on same subject.

BURSARIES and GRANTS


POLICE FORCES GRANTS
Project Aim: to provide student bursaries to members of the Venetian Police Forces, seriously wounded in the course of duty, who wish to undertake or are already undertaking a university degree course.
A special thank you to these individuals in uniform who risk their life every day to protect our civil society from criminality.

Support the Grants Scheme - we urgently need the support of individuals, foundations and businesses in order to increase the capital reserves of the Fund. For every €2,000 disbursed in grants, we need in fact about €60,000 of capital to provide the necessary income.


STUDENT GRANTS
Project Aim: to provide a modest level of financial support to deserving university students who are facing unexpected financial difficulties.

RAISING PUBLIC AWARENESS


Project Aim: with the aim of creating a lasting desire for reform, Confederazione Veneziana actively promotes all its publications by means of public debates, conferences, mass- media appearances, and by direct mailing to journalists, academics, politicians, business people and the general public in Venetia*.
